Starting on Saturday, Jan. 24, Norwalk Community College will offer free tax preparation and filing services for taxpayers with incomes below $49,000 during the 2015 tax season.
This service will be provided by the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (VITA) Program. IRS certified NCC student volunteers will be on hand to assist taxpayers in the Student Success Center, adjacent to the East Campus Atrium. They will work with taxpayers on both state and federal returns.
The program will run ever Saturday between Jan. 24 and April 11, from 10 a.m. 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in West Campus Room W138 and Room 140 as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays between Jan. 27 and April 14, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the East Campus Student Success Center.
Those seeking help in filing their returns should bring appropriate tax records and identification with them. The college is located at 188 Richards Ave. in Norwalk.
